This fall, Everett Community College will welcome a new multilingual education program aimed at enhancing the skills of employees within Snohomish and Skagit County school districts. The initiative is part of a broader effort to address the growing need for bilingual educators and support staff in the region's increasingly diverse classrooms.
The program will provide training and resources to equip participants with the necessary tools to effectively communicate with students and families from various linguistic backgrounds. This is particularly important as schools strive to create inclusive environments that foster academic success for all students.
By expanding access to multilingual education, the program aims to support educators in their efforts to engage with non-English speaking families and promote cultural understanding within the school community. The initiative reflects a commitment to improving educational outcomes and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their language proficiency. Classes are set to begin this fall, marking a significant step forward in the region's educational landscape.
