Students Take Action to Dismantle Rape Culture Through Education and Advocacy

As Sexual Assault Awareness Month marks its 25th anniversary, the student-led initiative Students Ending Rape Culture is reinforcing the message that preventing sexual violence is not a one-time effort but a continuous, collective responsibility. The group emphasizes that meaningful change requires a three-pronged approach: comprehensive education, accessible resources, and institutional accountability.

At the heart of the movement is the belief that rape culture—a social environment in which sexual violence is normalized and excused—can only be dismantled when individuals and institutions actively challenge harmful attitudes.
